Recently Lindokuhle Surveyors had students doing vacation work for their Surveying practical. students arrived on Sunday afternoon and left Friday afternoon. and this is what went down...
Every morning students had breakfast at 7am till 8am. This means they had to wake up earlier to bath and prepare for the day.
8am till 5am the students were out in the field doing the practical with lunch in between while working.
At 6pm till 7pm, it was dinner. then from 7pm till 10pm, everyone went to the hall to do their calculations from the data obtained at the field while doing their practical. From there I'm assuming everybody went to sleep so that they could rest. The last night was the most hectic because almost all of the students stayed up late in order to finish with the calculations before handing their field books. everybody was tired and before you know it was already 6am, the next morning which was Friday.
Students had to be done with their field work calculations but most of them were not. Eye bags were all over the place because of lack of sleep. After breakfast, everybody was packed and ready to go back to the field to clean up papers that were left behind during the practical. Thereafter, it was the instrument test where the students had to set up the Theodolite, center the bubble and the optical plummet, making sure that the instrument is well leveled and orientating to a trig beacon with the given degrees.
and that was the end of it. Everyone couldn't wait to get on the bus, go home, take a long bubble bath and sleep till the next morning....
